The virtue of ending the 6th fasting day of Shawwal

ISL4M.COM, TANJUNG ENIM - Al-Hamdulillah, all praise belongs to Allah, Rabb of the universe. Prayers and greetings upon Rasulillah - Allaah 'Alaihi Wasallam -, family and friends.

The Prophet sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam conveyed the virtue of fasting six days in Shawwal and encouraged them to carry it out in an interesting language.

مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَهُ سِتًّا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ كَانَ كَصِيَامِ الدَّهْرِ

"Who fasted Ramadan then followed him with six days in Shawwal, he was like fasting for a full year." (Narrated by Muslims and others)

Imam an-Nawawi rahimahullah said, "The scholars explained the purpose of fasting for a full year, because one good is multiplied tenfold. Ramadan is worth ten months, while six days are worth two months."

Al-Hafidz Ibn Rajab rahimahullah quoted from Ibnul Mubarak: "It was said, fasting six days in the month of Shawwal which continued with the fasting of Ramadhan was one of the same virtues, therefore for him a year-long fasting reward."

Knowing God Is Not Only in Ramadan

Obedience does not have a certain season, which then, if the season passes, people return to immorality. Even the season of obedience continues throughout the life of the servant, unknown to the end so he enters the grave.

Therefore, the passing of Ramadhan does not mean quitting worship and obedience. Especially busy with immorality.

Ibn Rajab Rahimahullah also said: "Responding to the pleasure of Taufiq to fast in the month of Ramadan by doing immorality afterwards, including among the actions of people who replace Allah's favor with kufr."

It was said to Bisyr al-Haafi rahimahullah: "A people worship and earnest in the month of Ramadan, then he said:" As bad as the people are those who do not know the rights of God except in the month of Ramadan. Indeed the righteous people worship and earnestly throughout year"."

Opportunities for Shawwal Six Days Fasting

Correct opinion, fasting 6 days of Shawwal applies throughout the month of Shawwal. Not only in the first days - from the 2nd - 7th of Shawwal; as some people understand. Then celebrated with ketupat on the eighth day.

Hospitality and visiting friends and friends is a good tradition in our society. Of course, it is very heavy if accompanied by fasting 6 days of Shawwal. It can even disappoint the brothers who have prepared dishes. How to do the 6 days fasting?

There is an article entitled "Why is the 6th Fast of the Shawwal Day Should Be Ended After Ied Days?" By Ust. Musyaffa Ad Dariny, Lc, MA. conclude the main implementation time to end. Namely after passing visiting days. Because people need these days to create a sense of happiness and glory for guests, and there is no doubt that giving importance to it will bring rewards, which can exceed the reward of some obedience (fasting) ...

In this article Ustadz Musyaffa took an explanation from Syaikh Muhammad Mukhtar Asy-Syinqithi -hafizhohulloh-, in the book Syarah Zadul Mustaqni ', 107/5.

He said, "For more Afdhol ... one should make the Eid days for happiness and pleasure (by not fasting)."

Therefore, you find that people will be 'bad' when they are visited by someone on a holiday, then he rejects the dish that is served and says 'I'm fasting', instead they are happy if the dish is enjoyed by their guests.

And there has come information from the Prophet -aahihis sholatu wassalam- that when he was invited by a friend from the Anshor to enjoy a meal with some of his friends, then there was his friend who stayed away and said: ‘really I am fasting (sunnah) '.

So the Prophet-shollallohu alaihi wasallam- told him: ungguh Really your brother has been struggling for you, so CANCEL your satisfaction and fast on another day. '

When guests enter on Eid days, especially the second and third days, of course someone will be happy and relieved when they see their guests enjoying the meal. So, the condition of someone hurrying to fast on the second and third day, this needs to be reviewed again.

So that it is more positive and more perfect if someone pleases the feelings of others (by not fasting). It could be that on the second and third day there are invitations, he may be their guest, and they are happy if he is there and take part in enjoying their meal.

Then things like this; concerned with silaturrahim and happy relatives, there is no doubt in it there are virtues that are more afdhol than practice (fasting) sunnah.

There is a rule that says: ‘If there are two main virtues that collide, and one of them can be done at another time ... then the virtues that can be done at other times are ended '. In fact, silaturrahim is undoubtedly among the best practices of taqorrob main.

On the other hand, the Shari'a has diluted it for his servants in the Shaykh 6 days fast, he made it 'absolute' (unbound), may be carried out throughout the day of Shawwal, then on any day the fast is carried out in Shawwal; it is permitted other than on ied day.

Based on this information, there is no reason for someone to make it difficult for him to be in harmony and to make his relatives happy and those who visit him on the eve. Wallahu Allam.
