He co-authored with professor Arthur F. Dalley II, Clinically Oriented Anatomy, which is the most popular English-language literature and a handbook of medicine worldwide. This book is also used by scientists, doctors, physiotherapists and students around the world.
Once upon a time, there was a group of students who showed Professor Keith L Moore the Qur'anic references to the 'Creation of Man' to Professor Keith L Moore, then the Professor saw him and said:
“It is impossible for this verse to be written in 7 AD, because what is contained in the verse is a scientific fact that has only been discovered by modern science! This is impossible, Muhammad must have used a microscope!”
The students then said, "Prof, didn't microscopes even exist at that time?"
"Yes, yes I know. I'm just kidding, there's no way Muhammad made up a verse like this," replied the professor.

"Then We made the semen (which was stored) in a firm place (womb). Then We made the semen into alaqoh (something that sticks), then We made the sticking thing into a lump of flesh, and We made the lump of flesh into bones, then We wrapped the bones with meat. Then We made him a different (shaped) creature. Glory be to Allah, the best of Creators," [Quran Surat. Al Mu'minun: 13-14]
If we look more closely, actually 'alaqoh' in the etymological sense which is usually translated as 'clot of blood' also means 'blood sucker', namely leeches.
In fact, there is no more appropriate analogy when the Embryo is at that stage, which is 7-24 days, than like a leech attached and hanging from the skin.
The embryo is like sucking blood from the uterine wall, because that is what actually happens, the embryo feeds through the bloodstream. It was just like a leech sucking blood. The fetus is like that, its food source is from the food essence contained in the mother's blood.
Miraculosly, the Fetal Embryo in that stage when magnified with a microscope looks really like a leech. And it would not be possible if Muhammad already had such a tremendous knowledge of the shape of the fetus that resembled a leech and then wrote it down in a book.
Even though at that time microscopes and lenses had not been invented. Obviously it is knowledge from God, it is revelation from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, Who is All-Knowing of Everything.
It was this verse that made the professor finally embrace Islam and revise some of his scientific studies because the Koran turned out to have answered several parts that had been making the professor angry. He feels that the material he has studied so far feels incomplete or that there are stages of embryonic development that are lacking.
