God asked, "What have you done in the world?" He replied, "I fought to defend your religion." God said, "You are lying. You fight so that people call you the Brave." Then God ordered that his deeds be counted before His court. Finally he was thrown to hell.

Practicing sincerity
From the hadith of Muslim history above, sincerity in charity becomes a very important thing. No matter how a servant dies in the field of jihad, knowledge and read the Qur'an, even known for his generosity, but if it is not accompanied by sincerity, then the charity is useless.
It turns out that the word sincere, not because these lips say sincerely. Or do not even say sincere. It may be, without us knowing, our sincerity is mixed with riya 'and wants to show that we are brave, knowledgeable and generous people.
A wise man said, "A sincere person is one who hides his kindness, as he hides his ugliness. The sincerity of intention in your charity is more meaningful than the charity itself. "
Ma'ruf al-Karkhi hit himself while saying, "O soul, be sincere! Then you will be happy. "
Yahya bin Mu'adz said, "Ikhlas is separating charity from disabilities such as the separation of milk from dirt and blood."
Yusuf bin Husayn said, "The most noble thing in the world is sincerity. How big is my passion to get the show off from the heart, but it seems like it stays in the heart in another form. "
Every time Ayyub as-Sakhtiyani spoke, he rubbed his face while saying, "I have a fever." Though he was afraid to show off and be happy. He was afraid that people would say about him like this. He cried out of fear of God.
One scholar said, "If Allah does not like someone, then Allah gives him three things and prevents him from three things. First, God gave him a righteous friend, but he did not become a righteous person. Second, God gave him righteous deeds, but he was not willing to live it. Third, God gives him wisdom, but he doesn't believe it. "
Itself Riya
Riya 'comes from the word ru'yah (seeing), while sum'ah (fame) comes from the word Samaa' (listening). Riya ’is what people want to see in order to get a position. Riya ’is disguised like an ant. Including riya ', which is people who pretend to ascetic, walk to force themselves to be calm and be gentle.
In the summary of Ihya Ulumuddin, Imam al Ghazali emphasized that riya is haram and the perpetrators are hated by Allah. This was indicated in Koran letter. Al-Ma'un: 4- 6: "So, woe to those who pray, (ie) those who fail to pray. People who do riya. "
A friend of the Prophet asked, "O Messenger of Allah, with what are we saved?"The Prophet replied, "If humans do not practice obedience to Allah Almighty in order to expect the praise of people."
The Prophet said, "Indeed, what is most feared of you is a small shirk." Friends asked, "What is a small shirk, O Messenger of Allah? He replied, "Riya."
Then Allah (swt) said on the Day of Judgment when repaying humans for their deeds: "Go (you) to the people you used to do riya towards them in the world. See if you get a reply from them? "
In another hadith, the Messenger of Allah said, "Take refuge with Allah from the jubbul huzun (valley of sorrow). Friends asked, "What is the Prophet?" The Prophet replied, "A valley in Hell is provided for the readers of the Qur'an who do riya."
