TIMES OF ISLAM, TANJUNG ENIM - Every one of us, as long as we live on the face of this world, must have a problem; or we call a test to trace the degree of faith and piety. The problems we face differ according to our age-psychic-psychological level. But there are times when we feel that the problem we face is so great that it exceeds the limits of our ability. More so than young adults, which is not the age to be confused with puberty but also still immature to become an adult. Very "labile" condition.
Most people when they are upset, read motivational books to foster enthusiasm and find solutions, some of them take seminars, watch television shows, some also vent to others. Whatever formulas, tips, tips and tricks, how to be precise, wise words, basically everything is true. It's just whether it suits us or not. Below I would like to review some of the wisdom words that are so familiar to us, but can be misleading. It's just still in a safe level, not to the point of being misleading like the hadith maudhu '...
1. "Be Yourself"
Every person is created by God with its own uniqueness and no one before or after it has an identical resemblance, even twins. When we feel ourselves different from others, sometimes it feels a little strange. And the wisdom that we often hear is: "be yourself" become yourself. If it is indeed a positive thing, it should be preserved and preserved so that it does not become extinct. But "no body is perfect", each of us has a deficiency. For example, there are people who are fussy or angry, so if wisdom is practiced it can be misguided. Rationally is this trait useful (individually or socially) or just the opposite. And if we maintain this trait and have become characters, it will be difficult to change. People around will also be disturbed. So don't use "be yourself" wisdom but "be ideal". Be someone with a good personality (good personality) as exemplified by idol figures of all time the Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
There are also those who interpret "be yourself" by not grouping. This trains us to be independent without the help of others. As our first president's motto "Berdikari" stands on its own feet. But Islam teaches us to congregate and forbid us to divide. When the wisdom inherent in our undermind is wrong, then change it now.
2. "Keep Moving On"
This second Wisdom can also be dangerous. Even though we are falling (give up), we often hear "don't give up, keep move on" (don't give up, keep going). Immediately our ammunition was filled again. Or the famous Islamic term "La tahzan". But if we examine it literally it should not "move on". Imagine when we are riding a motorcycle and then fall, and we are still "moving on" so the picture is we have fallen but still gasping the motorbike and keep moving forward. Javanese people say "ndolosor". But the truth is "move up", get up and move.
3. "Silent is Gold"
Really ??? If this is true maybe there will never be a development of mobile phones as diverse as it is today. Why? Why do people get tired of spending money when they are quiet gold. A precious metal whose exchange rate of currencies has remained stable without being affected by the economic crisis or rising fuel prices. To the extent that maybe if we still remember in the days leading up to the 2009 election, President SBY said, "if silence is gold, then speaking is a diamond". Whatever that, al muhim, batangke, maybe this wisdom can be suitable for people who like to talk a lot. But, what if this wisdom is said to a quiet person?
Actually if we search, this wisdom is taken from a hadith of the Prophet, "Whoever believes in Allah and the last day, then let him say good to his brother or be silent."
From this hadith it is clear that the command is to say good words. So it is very suitable to be applied to people who are quiet and fussy people who like to talk about things that are useless and can fall into ghibah. But if indeed we don't or can't speak good words then silence is better. Scholars say, silence is part of science. For example, Imam Malik, who is one of the sources of his school based on Medina's expert charity, will not be devoted to receiving a recommendation or mandate from 70 of his shaykhs, when asked about 40 issues of fiqh he only answered about 4 things. And the rest say, "I don't know". If an Imam Malik is like that, then do those of us who have just learned a piece of hadith punish our brothers?
4. "Time is Money"
The next Wisdom emerged from the philosophy of materialistic people, who considered money to be everything. The reality now is that money is not so muchyes, but everything needs money. Especially those who live in the capital, just go to the toilet to pay Rp. 2,000, "where is there a free day". That is the reality, we cannot deny. Even Islam does not forbid us to become rich. It's just that what is later questioned and accounted for is, from where the sustenance comes from and for what is spent. There is a salaf who says, "if poverty is shaped (has form) then I will kill it with a sword". Poverty is close to kufr but less burden that we will account for before God. While many assets will have many of our responsibilities, there are far more benefits that we can use such as giving alms, pilgrimage, charity, inheritance, etc. If there is no wealth then how can we carry out some of these religious obligations?
However, what needs to be corrected is the problem of "time". To the extent that Allah swears by time because of its urgency. Some interpret, at that time is life itself. In a lecture, Ustad. Anis Matta explained that time is divided into three layers, individual time, community time (people), and historical time. The Arabic proverb says, "That time is like a sword, if we do not slash we will be cut off". In the hadith the prophet says, "Live in the world like a traveler, if you are in the morning do not wait until evening, and when you are in the afternoon, do not wait for morning."
God also reminds us of the importance of this time,
"O you who believe, have faith in Allah and let each soul see what he has prepared for tomorrow. And fear Allah, Lo! Allah is acquainted with what you do. And do not be like those who forget God, God makes them forget about themselves. These are the Fasik people. "(Al Hashr: 18-19)
That is part of the wisdom (wisdom words) that is famous for us but can also be misleading if we examine it more deeply. These wise words are the result of personal contemplation and analysis and also from public discourse as well as inspiration from several figures, critics and suggestions from readers are very helpful in the development of writers in the future. Hopefully it will be of benefit to individuals and people.
